My first practice parts on our Milltronics cnc mill. I’m making some brass soft jaws for my Wilton vise. I’ll break these down into a few short segments covering both first and second ops. A long backlogged shop project turned into a good learning and training exercise for me. Squaring up a workpiece in the Milltronics cnc. Here’s I’m learning how to quickly use the machine for short fast ops like this, as if I want to take a piece of stock and mill it to a specific length, or clean up the sides. I’m running our new Titan USA 3/4” carbide endmill at a speed of 500 ipm and a feed at 78 ipm with a cut width of .025”, .015” and .010”. The workpiece thickness is 1.750” x 2” wide. Being so use to manual machining, this is flying! 🫣 Fun stuff to learn and see happen! #abom

Back on the Milltronics CNC lathe to make a small batch of aluminum parts for the welding shop. This was my first Cnc lathe project drilling holes and I gotta say it all went great. I used the AddForceCut parting tool to also cut a weld bevel on the back side before parting it completely off. Catching parts will be another subject I need to learn about. I’ll tap all of these with the Flexarm. Big thanks to Kevin @mechvantage for the Fusion training help with this program 👊🏻 Sometime it’s dead
